6--UJF--June 9, 1995 COMMUNITY Brandeis Women install incoming slate More than 90 members and guests attended the festive installation of officers of the Tidewater Chapter of Brandeis University Women's Committee at a Spring lunch on May 24, at the Cavalier Yacht and Golf Club in Virginia Beach. The event was organized by Betty Bonnie and Helen Gif- ibrd. Muriel Miller, outgoing president, conducted a brief business meeting followed by Lennie Swersky's introduction of the Brandeis University speaker, Professor Stephen J. Whitfield, Chairman of' the American Studies Department. Whitfield spoke on "Introduc- tion to American Political Humor." The nominating Committee (Muriel Miller, Lennie Swersky, Goldye Ellenson, Ettalea Kan- ter and Helen Gifford) present- ed the following slate of officers, who were then installed by Ettalea Kanter; President- Rena Rogoff; Administrative Vice-President -- Jeanne Bob- bitt; Bulletin & Publicity Vice- President -- Martha Berliner; Study Groups Vice-President -- Ruth Gutherz; Corresponding Secretary -- Janice Frieden; Recording Secretary -- Sally Hyman; Financial Secretary -- Carole Bernstein; Treasurer .-- JCCT schedules aerobic classes The JCCT has aerobic class- es through the summer. Morn- ing classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:15 a.m. Evening classes Monday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. Tues- day and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. Classes are free to members, and there is no charge for the first class, for non-members. BUNWC supports the Bran- deis University libraries and membership is open to both men and women. The Tidewater Chapter sponsors four Study Groups and several special events throughout the year.
